Kissey Asplund, from Sweden, represents the best hope of Scandinavian soul and is obviously quite attended on international stage. Collaborations around the World with the most innovating artists and producers of the moment : Aaron Jerome , KidKanevil, Replife, Flyphonic, Ishfaq, Soultempo, Michita, Rustie. After the release of the EPs With You & Fuss and Fight, his first album Plethora was finally released last March with the label R2 Records. It's a brilliant electro with an aesthetic which should inspire many female singers. Kissey creates willfully a modernist soul, vocally fascinating, groovy, cool, soulful, productions of the crew PapaJazz play with electronica. Some groovy intro on Still The Baddest where in Kissey hums, on the great Caos with a jazzy rhythmic or even 6am with an hybrid music perfectly combined with her voice. Phone Call is a sensual and tantalizing track, it takes you in a whirl of plenitude, surfing with notes, a beat with hip hop consonance. Kissey sings, bursts out, wonders, laughs, questions, in short all that is alive. It amply justifies an investment of your euros or dollars for this disc.
